Description
Quadrature, in collaboration with Warsaw-based design studio Tremend, has taken on the unusual challenge of converting part of the former Kasprzak factory into a hostel for the European a&o chain.
The building was transformed into a 200-room hostel, the first one for this chain hotel in Varsovia. It is a perfect example of the modern architectural trend of giving a new function to post-industrial areas. Thanks to the adaptation, Warsaw’s dynamically developing business district received a stylish tourist facility within everyone’s reach.
The chosen design&bulid formula allowed for creative cooperation between architects and engineers, resulting in the preservation of the building’s historical character and its adaptation to contemporary technical requirements.
The a&o Warszawa Wola hostel, with 2, 4 and 6-bed rooms, is characterised by a modern and colourful design, combining simplicity and functionality, which is the philosophy of the a&o brand.
The works lasted one year and ended with Quadrature obtaining the occupancy permit in February 2020.
